Guidance and Empowerment for Young Adults Seeking Personal Growth and Skills for a Successful Future
The Nascent Navigators program is for young adults, aged 18-25, to be guided and empowered through Focus & Finish's coaching program designed to help them navigate the challenges and opportunities of their transitional stage in life.
As they carve out their paths in life, these young adults are often seeking direction personal growth, and the skills needed to achieve their goals and aspirations as they move from adolescence into full adulthood.
They are in a crucial phase of their journey, learning to navigate the complexities and opportunities of adulthood. The program aims to equip them with the tools and confidence to successfully steer their own paths towards a promising future.
NASCENT - As defined by the Meriam-Webster Dictionary, the word nascent means beginning to exist or develop; it describes something that is in its early stages of formation or growth. It is often used to refer to new ideas, organizations, movements, or processes that are just starting out and have the potential to grow or become more significant over time.
When referring to a young adult aged 18-25, the term nascent suggests that the person is in an early stage of their personal, professional, or intellectual development. This period is often characterized by growth, self-discovery, and the beginning of one's independent adult life.
It can imply that the individual is just starting to explore their identity, career, relationships, and personal values, and is in the process of forming the foundation of their adult life. This stage is seen as a time of potential, where much of who they will become is still in the process of taking shape.
Attending ECU for entrepreneurship with a minor in Science, in my goal’s sessions with Ms. Folice honestly I have never had somebody make me think so hard about my future. She makes me think about what I want to leave behind and why. Her favorite question is why. I want to create generational wealth for my family.
In our session yesterday, I created one main goal and then I had to break it down into milestones. For example, I want a boat dealership so I had to consider all of the steps and work that I have to do to get to that point.
Everyone needs a mentor that can help guide them when they are struggling to find the way to go. Work ethic is important to get where I want while I am young. My recommendation to other kids this age is to keep your head up, you can’t see it now, but don’t give up.
After receiving a bachelor’s at NC A&T I am going on to get a 5th year to get my MBA. Ms. Folice has been great. I always heard, “what do you want to do?” She has helped me to dig deep in myself to find what I truly want to do. So I have created one big goal. My goal is to own some property that relates to construction management. My long term goal is financial freedom to be able to travel and enjoy life in the future.
Other young people can benefit from a mentor who has more experience and wisdom than us at our young age. I know that work ethic and consistency is important to achieve what I want. My recommendation to young men is to keep in mind that everyone has their own path. Keep pursuing what you want. You will get there eventually if you don’t stop.
